Picture this: You are leaving a big box store like Wal Mart or Target, you make your way to the self-checkout section, you scan your first item, and a ferocious sounding death metal voice screams back at you, “$5.99!!!! Saving, $2!! *Goes off on pig squeals*”
If that sounds fucking hilarious to you, then do we have a great gem for you to check out. There is a supermarket called Tesco that is holding a competition to become the “new voice of Tesco checkouts”; in short, the supermarket is looking for a new voice to represent their self-checkout machines.
So of course, a metalhead by the name of Hunter Black found out about this and decided to audition – you may have an idea where this is going. The TikTok that Hunter uploaded features a split screen involving himself and these disembodied eyes and mouth (the latter meant to be some sort of nightmare representative of Tesco).
The idea of the competition is to take part in a duet with this “face” and repeat statements back to it. The face starts off by asking, “So, why do you think you’ve got what it takes?”
Replying to this, Hunter says, “Because I sound like this,” and let’s loose a demonic, nasty sounding roar. The whole experience of this video is fucking hilarious and got us laughing our asses off. You can check out the full video for yourself below. We would love to hear that Hunter won the competition.
In other comical metal video news, have you seen the video of the cockatoo that repeatedly sings the lyrics to Drowning Pool’s “Bodies”? Someone bought this bird off of Craigslist (always a safe decision) and didn’t realize the bird was so obsessed with the song.
