Welcome back to The Pit’s Favorite Riffs, where we share five new killer metal songs that have recently come out and that we love! Here are the metal songs we highlighted from last week!
As always, our goal with this feature is to shine a light on more underground metal bands. This week, we are bringing you a nice variety of post-hardcore, grindcore, and more.

KEN Mode – “A Love Letter“
If you are looking for an energetic boost, start your Friday off with the chaotic and intricate compositions of KEN Mode. The math-y technicality of this band is truly incredible, their new record NULL providing a delightfully maddening blend of sonically crushing tracks.
Algebra – “Kleptomaniac“
Thrashing-death metal madness is exactly what you will get out of the new Algebra album, Chiroptera. While “Kleptomaniac” makes for a solid example of what to expect from the album, it is but a small taste of the nonstop whirlwind of thrashing instrumentation that will shred your eardrums.
Ground – “Indurated Juvenescence“
Equally as sonically devastating is the Ground song “Indurated Juvenescence.” For those of you who love to hear disgusting and ferocious sounding grindcore, Ground have you covered. While the band’s new album comes out next month, we also recommend checking out their previous release, Mourn Innocence.
Crust – “Sleeping in My Grave“
Incorporating elements of death, black, and doom metal into their mix, Crust offer listeners atmospheres reeking of despair. Their music strikes a balance between haunting and mesmerizing, luring audiences into surreal musical landscapes shrouded in darkness.
GUTVOID – “In Caverns It Lurks“
GUTVOID have a new album out today, and to highlight this crushing work of death metal, we wanted to give a shout out to their song “Durance of Lightless Horizons.” Grotesque, chilling, and evil sounding as fuck, GUTVOID have crafted a work of superb menace; this song has the power to hook the listener in, guiding them into a musical world of chilling death metal.
