Welcome back to The Pit’s Favorite Riffs, where we share five new killer metal songs that have recently came out and that we love! Here are the metal songs we highlighted from last week!

As always, our goal with this feature is to shine a light on more underground metal bands. This week, we are bringing you a nice variety of death metal, nu metal, and more.

Dying Fetus – “Compulsion For Cruelty”

Why not start of your weekend with a very fucking heavy banger? Dying Fetus constantly deliver sonically crushing material; “Compulsion For Cruelty” is the band’s first new song in some time now, and it is an utterly savage display of technical death metal. We are very ready for a new record from the band, but for now, we are thankful for this gruesome cut.

Tallah – “Shaken (Not Stirred)”

There is a nu metal resurgence taking place, and one of the bands helping to bring back the genre is that of Tallah. They recently put out a new cut titled “Shaken (Not Stirred),” which features an hysteric industrial-nu metal sound. Honestly folks, this track channels both Slipknot and Linkin Park vibes.

Fawn Limbs – “Death Pores”

Always a blistering display of noise, grindcore, and death metal, Fawn Limbs is one of the most sonically abrasive acts in the scene today. As of today, they have released a new EP titled Oleum, which, per their words: “Is a concept EP about fist-fucking your demons raw and dry to emerge anew.” You can purchase the EP via Bandcamp now.

Detherous – “Gruesome Tools of Torture”

When you blend death and thrash metal together, you can expect music that sounds both exhilarating and haunting. That is what Detherous achieve when it comes to their new song “Gruesome Tools of Torture”; you have a song that sounds evil as hell and offers a riveting rush. You can pre-order their upcoming LP Unrelenting Malevolence now.

Atomic Witch – “70,000 Skulls”

Grindy, yet melodic, Atomic Witch offers a brand of death metal that is super catchy. The band have a new record on the way titled Crypt of Sleepless Malice, and their song “70,000 Skulls” makes for a stellar first taste of the thrills and chills the band have in-store for folks. You can pre-order the record now.

Of course, this is but a small taste of the many awesome metal releases that are out today. What are some new metal songs/albums that you are listening to now or plan to check out over the course of this weekend?
