Economic inflation is impacting a great deal of folks, including that of thrash rockers Anthrax. Over on their social media accounts, the band has shared some news that, “due to ongoing logistical issues and 2022 costs that are out of our control,” they actually have to cancel one of their tours!

The band were supposed to be embarking on a European tour this year, but that is not happening now. Per a post provided via the Anthrax Facebook page, the band write:

“Sadly due to ongoing logistical issues and 2022 costs that are out of our control, we have no other option but to cancel the European leg of our upcoming 2022 tour. We will however be coming to the UK as scheduled. Tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.”

That is a damn shame for the folks over in Europe who were looking forward to seeing the band live. One commenter on the band’s Facebook post actually said that the issue is really the band not selling many tickets; but the Anthrax account made sure to reply to this comment and said there was no such issue with ticket sales. Per the band’s account (in response to this accusation):

“[Facebook user name redacted] rest assured, there were zero issues with sales. Check out the news over there for a few minutes. We absolutely adore the European fans and love playing there and a re very sad not to come. It doesn’t work “example” when tour buses double and triple in cost.”

Here is hoping that, for you metalheads in Europe, the band will eventually be able to make their way to you all (and everyone can have an awesome time). In other band related news, Faith No More singer Mike Patton once turned down an offer to perform in Anthrax. Band bassist Frank Bello recently talked about band drummer Charlie Benante sitting in as drummer for the upcoming Pantera shows. You can find links to these stories and more below.
