Vended have currently been touring with Slipknot and Jinjer overseas, and for that of Griffin Taylor and Simon Crahan, the experience has been extra exciting. That is very much because the two Vended members get to tour alongside that of their dads (Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan, respectively).
During a recent conversation with Kerrang!, Simon and Griffin talked about a variety of subjects, including what it is like to be on the road with Slipknot and see their dads perform each night. Ultimately, the boys find the experience to be rewarding (both to see their dad’s kick ass performances, and to spend time with them).
Regarding touring alongside their dads, Simon Crahan speaks up and shares the following: “I think touring with Slipknot is perfect because Griffin and I get to see our dads – that’s amazing. We never get to see our fucking dads!”
Giffin then speaks up, saying, “You live in fucking Vegas! You live in a desert!”, which is a Sam Kinison routine (Sam is a stand-up comedian). Simon then goes on to address haters who may have a thing or two to say about the Vended members touring alongside Slipknot:
“It’s good for us to be around the people who really showed us what music was really about. Yeah, people are pissed off, but if you were in our position, you would take the tour, so shut the fuck up.”
In that same interview, Griffin and Simon spoke to how they and the band have developed their craft overtime without tremendous help from their dads. They speak to how much work they have put in and how much they have done on their own.
