Sometime ago, rumors began floating around regarding a possible collaboration between Cradle of Filth‘s Dani Filth and popstar Ed Sheeran. In a prior interview, Filth had shared that such a collaboration would be a “bit of a challenge to undertake;” however, it looks like this collaboration is actually happening!
In a new conversation with Knotfest, Dani Filth was asked about his collaboration with Ed Sheeran; Filth shared that work has already been started regarding their collaboration, and he provided some insight as to where it stands now. In fact, in talking about this new song, Dani says “We still have yet to finish our song with Ed Sheeran,” so it sounds like its Ed teaming up with all of Cradle of Filth!
Per Dani Filth:
“We still have yet to finish our song with Ed Sheeran. He’s done some of it, but then he had a baby, and then he got obviously sidetracked with that and doing whatever Ed does, which is play massive shows around the globe. He’s not at our beck and call. But he is gonna finish it, he assures me. Actually, I spoke to him quite recently.”
When asked how he feels fans may react to such a collaboration, Dani says: “Well, I think they just have to like it or lump it, really. I wouldn’t say there’s an irony in it; we really appreciate the marriage of extremes.”
Dani then went on to confirm that the material will be coming out: “[Our collaboration will be released] when it’s finished. We don’t know when it’s coming out.”
Holy shit this is wild! For a long time, we were not sure if this collaboration would actually happen… but here we are now with this news from Dani himself. We can’t even begin to imagine what a song involving these two artists might sound like. Do you have any ideas? We wonder if Ed will try to shriek and scream like that of his Cradle of Filth buddy.
