Looks we got ourselves here a classic case of a designer or marketer at a big corporation that did not do their fact checking before putting up the wrong image of an 80’s hair metal band on Amazon.com! So…

Amazon is currently selling the Docurama called ‘Rock ‘n Roll Icon: Mötley Crüe.

As per the page description: This Music Bio looks at the American heavy Metal Band Mötley Crüe. Formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars and lead singer Vince Neil.
Sounds cool, right? Maybe it is, but that sure ain’t a picture of Mötley CrüeThat, friends, is assuredly Steel Panther. Whoopsies:
Psst, Amazon - Steel Panther & Mötley Crüe are Different Bands

Poor Mötley Crüe. The guys have had a bumpy ride on their current tour. First, Tommy Lee broke his ribs and couldn’t make it through a full set. Then, Vince Neil continued to struggle with some ongoing vocal performance issues. Then, Vince took some heat for using a teleprompter for lyric help during live shows. And then, a video of Tommy Lee made it seem as if he was using backing tracks for his performances (to be fair, it seems as if what was heard in that video might just be stock count in parts). Don’t take our word, though. We’re no musical rocket scientists.

Anyways, thankfully, despite all of the tribulations outlined above, none of it has stopped Mötley Crüe from a selling a bejesus amount of concert tickets in the process.
