Via a video promo associated with a Motörhead tribute album, Pantera singer Phil Anselmo spoke to how much he admires the late Lemmy. This tribute album is titled Löve Me Förever: A Tribute To Motörhead, and it features a plethora of Motörhead covers.
Phil Anselmo, and that of a few other musicians, cover that of “Ace Of Spades.” In a video promo talking about Lemmy and Motörhead, Anselmo speaks to seeing the band perform live in 1985 and how their performance rocked him. Speaking to that show and the late Lemmy Kilmister, Anselmo shared the following:
“The first thing that attracted me to Motörhead was Lemmy Kilmister and the sound of his voice. And then it was solidified – In 1985, I went to a show outside New Orleans, Louisiana, and it was Agnostic Front and Motörhead. It was a wall of crushing sound and they were just incredible; they sounded great. Lemmy was so long lasting and impressionable, man, on me. He’s forever and I love him.”
