Metal Hellsinger is a rhythm based first-person shooter that features awesome horror imagery and a plethora of kick ass heavy metal songs. The game features different tracks, and depending on how you play, the quality of those songs is impacted.
The tracks players will hear throughout the game actually involve a great variety of super talented metal singers; such metal vocalists have contributed to the game: Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Matt Heafy of Trivium/Ibaraki, Serj Tankian of System of a Down, and several more.
Over the course of this past week, Gamescom has been taking place; Gamescom is a big video game event located in Germany. Among the many video games highlighted at the event, Metal Hellsigner was one of them. Not only was there a big metal performance to highlight Hellsinger, but several metal singers took part in a conversation about the video game.
In attendance was that of Matt Heafy, Alissa White-Gluz, James Dorton III of Black Crown Initiate, and Dennis Lyxzén of INVSN. All four vocalists were asked about their involvement regarding the game and if they have played it. Being a gamer himself, Matt spoke quite a bit about the relationship between heavy metal and video games.
You can check out the conversation below featuring the four vocalists (the video also provides some footage of Metal Hellsinger). In other video game related news, Serj took part in a conversation a few months ago talking about a past video game addiction he used to have. One of the guitarists from Undeath also took part in a video naming off perfect video games for metalheads some months ago.
What are some video games that have come out this year that you are really enjoying? What video games do you think capture a perfect “metal spirit”?
