When he learned that his son Ian was struggling with heroin addiction, ex-Mötley Crüe frontman John Corabi reached out to band members Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx looking for some possible guidance. During a conversation on The Chuck Shute Podcast, Corabi shared that he still keeps in touch with Lee; he also mentioned that, upon reaching out to Sixx for help, he got “no response.”

During this conversation, the interviewer brings up how he heard Corabi had reached out to Sixx and Lee, and that he was upset neither answered him. The interviewer makes a point to ask if it’s possible that Corabi’s texts went over both musician’s heads (considering the number of messages each one may get a day). To this, John Corabi said, “Don’t know, doesn’t matter to me.”

He then went on to share the following: “The bottom line if it is… Now, look, at the end of the day, Tommy and I are fine. Tommy still texts me. We contact each other on Instagram. But I didn’t do anything until Tommy reached out to me first and said ‘Hey, Crab. How’ve you been?’ Blah blah blah. Whatever. Or I posted something and he made a comment about it. And then I reached out.

“I wasn’t mad at them. I was a little disappointed in the fact that… If you wanna be upset with me, awesome. C’est la vie. But you watched my kid grow up. I reached out to them; I did not ask them for money. I did not ask them for anything. What I asked them for was – ‘Hey, you guys have dealt with heroin addiction. How do I handle this?’ I got nothing from Nikki at all – no response. No nothing.”

John Corabi continues: “And Tommy just wrote back, he just wrote back one word. He wasn’t, like, ‘Oh, shit, dude. Sorry. Fuck! Are you kidding me? Ian’s taking drugs? Nothing. He just wrote ‘rehab.’ No, like, ‘Rehab. Good luck. Tommy.’ Like, nothing. He just wrote ‘rehab’ send.”

John goes on to share that he was a little bummed out with Tommy, and goes on to say how Tommy and his son Ian had somewhat of nice relationship (Lee got Ian his first drum set and Ian looked up to Lee).
