Ice Nine Kills not only make for an incredibly bad ass metalcore act, but they are also super huge horror movie fans (especially that of band frontman Spencer Charnas). One of the big qualities associated with the band is their horror-themed lyricism; with such records like The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, the band have offered a plethora of songs that pay tribute to iconic horror movies.
As of today, the band have released a music video for their song “The Shower Scene” – which is a tribute/nod to the 1960 horror movie, Psycho. But this isn’t just any ordinary music video that happens to pay tribute to a horror movie – for “The Shower Scene” music video also includes another narrative involving Spencer Charnas and several famous horror movie icons.
Brief music video spoilers ahead. Towards the end of “The Shower Scene” video, viewers are then brought into a court room scene where Spencer is on trial. What takes place is a horror-mystery narrative involving the Ice Nine Kills frontman. Per a press release associated with the release of this video, Spencer shares the following:
“While paying tribute to perhaps the most influential horror film of all time, Alfred Hitchcock’s, Psycho, we simultaneously continue the INK Horrorwood Saga we began exactly a year ago to the day. Will this be the end? Or is the next chapter just right around the cororner…”
Accompanying him are several big names from the world of horror, such as: Bill Moseley and Scout Taylor-Compton (who are very well-known for their work in Rob Zombie‘s movies). Moseley plays Otis in House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, while Taylor-Compton plays Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s Halloween movies.
