While Dee Snider does not approve of far-right republican candidate Kari Lake using the Twisted Sister song “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” Snider has provided his blessing regarding a democratic candidate’s use of the song.

When it comes to Lake, Snider recently shared that he cannot “legally” or “morally” stop her from using “We’re Not Gonna Take It” – since he does not want to cherry pick who can and can’t use the song. That said, he has made it very clear that he does not condone her socio-political beliefs.

Democratic candidate Marco Lopez (running in Arizona) recently shared a brief video clip on Twitter featuring himself with the Twisted Sister song being played. Alongside this video, he wrote the following:

Well, as @deesnider said, ‘we have a right to chose’ AND ‘We’re NOT gonna take it’ amigos. No más! No more! Get out and VOTE #Arizona. #AZGov.”

When Dee Snider eventually saw this, he felt the need to retweet Lopez and let the democratic candidate know that he has Snider’s blessing. Per his retweet, Snider wrote the following:

Now THIS guy can use @TwistedSisterNY ‘We’re Gonna Take It’ with my blessing! Go get ’em Marco!!”

Earlier this year, Dee Snider spoke to why he approves of the Ukrainian people using “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” and why he does not support another group who used the song. There was also a parody done of the song earlier this year that Snider wasn’t a fan of. You can find links to these stories below.
