We love to see how artists interpret other artist’s work, so when we saw the paintings of Felipe Mora that interpret different songs off of the Metallica album Master of Puppets, we were blown away!
Felipe Mora is a Columbian artist (and part of Third World Posse) who has decided to give the songs off of Master of Puppets visual representation. It is also worth noting that Mora has done this before, creating paintings based off songs from the Metallica albums Kill ’Em All and Ride The Lightning.
Mora has created these new paintings based off Master of Puppets for a charity project; this project is called Dealing Out The Agony. Per the project’s Indiegogo page, “60% of all profits will be donated to the Children Hospital of San Vicente Foundation to help improve the quality of care and life expectancy of children dealing with cancer in Colombia.”
These paintings are fascinating and present brilliant detail that will appeal to fans of Metallica (and those who are into horror leaning artwork). We have included some images below for you to check out, as well as a trailer involving this project. To learn more details regarding Dealing Out The Agony, head over to the project’s Indiegogo page. Will you be buying one of Felipe Mora’s paintings? Our personal favorite work is the “Cthulhu” painting (which is part of our header image for this article).
