In 2002, Wednesday 13 and the late Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison formed the Murderdolls – a horror-themed metal band. Over the course of their career, the band released two studio albums: Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls (2002) and Women and Children Last (2010).

It has been 20 years since the release of Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, and news has just come out regarding the band coming back together for a special reunion show at this year’s Silver Scream Con (the horror convention being put on by Ice Nine Kills). However, there appears to be some drama going on regarding this news. Specifically, this show looks to involve that of ex-band members Acey Slade and Eric Griffin – and not that of band co-founder Wednesday 13.

In fact, Wednesday actually took to his Instagram recently to share the following news:

“It’s unfortunate that this has to be said, but here it is: Murderdolls was created in 2002 by Joey Jordison and Wednesday 13. The name, the look, the lyrics, the music was all created by Joey Jordison and Wednesday 13. Anyone besides Wednesday or Joey claiming to be the Official Murderdolls is NOT OFFICIAL. Any merchandise being advertised using Joey and Wednesday’s original Murderdolls logos, music and lyrics is NOT Approved or Authorized.”

While not explicitly stated, one could assume that this post is about the news regarding the “Murderdolls reunion” show taking place at the Silver Scream Con. When it comes to the band’s studio releases, Acey Slade and Eric Griffin were only involved with the band’s first record, not that of 2010’s Women and Children Last.

What do you make of this news? Do you think something smells fishy if Wednesday 13 is not involved in a “Murderdolls reunion” show? You can find Wednesday’s Instagram post below.
