The sons of Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich, Myles and Layne Ulrich, have released the debut single from their band Taipei Houston. We have mentioned Taipei Houston in a past feature about kids of famous musicians who happen to be in bands.
As of the other day, the band have released their debut single “As The Sun Sets.” While their music isn’t thrash leaning like that of Metallica, Myles and Layne offer a kick ass rush through their blend of aggressive and playful sounding rock and roll. This one single gets us excited to hear more music from the band! Here is hoping they will have an EP or LP coming out in the near future. Lars Ulrich isn’t the only Metallica member to have kids in bands – Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo‘s son is in a band, and Metallica singer/guitarist James Hetfield also has a son in a band. Tye Trujillo is part of OTTO, where as Castor Hetfield is part of Bastardane. Of these younger bands – OTTO, Bastardane, and Taipei Houston – which one is your personal favorite?
It’s pretty cool to see all these guys following in the footsteps of their dads and creating music for a new generation of rockers and metalheads.
