At this point, you have more than likely heard of the Metallica song cameo that appears in the latest season of Stranger Things. Spoilers for Stranger Things ahead. As part of the show’s finale, the character of Eddie Munson (played by Joe Quinn), ends up performing the Metallica song “Master of Puppets“; the scene when this cameo takes place has a lot going on, such as the show’s big bad Vecna chasing down one of the protagonists (the actor who plays Vecna recently mentioned that he listened to black metal to get into character).

Due to the cameo of this Metallica song, “Master of Puppets” has gone super viral. The band are really proud of this success – especially since Kirk Hammett and the son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo assisted with the performance of that cameo. Per a post made on the Metallica Facebook page, the band provided the following statement:

“The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include ‘Master of Puppets’ in the show but to have such a pivotal scene built around it. We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away… it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?

“It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show.”

We send our congrats to Metallica and the Stranger Things team for putting together such an awesome collaboration! Given this recent success of “Master of Puppets,” the band is sure to get a lot of new fans.
