What was just a rumor has now been officially confirmed – Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante and Black Label Society/Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde will take part in the Pantera reunion tour. This confirmation comes via Billboard.

Along with Pantera members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown, the four musicians will headline major festivals across North America and Europe, while also headlining their own concerts (this information has been provided to Billboard per a source close to the group). Furthermore, this line-up has been given an official greenlight by the estates of the late Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, as well as Rex Brown.

Both Charlie Benante and Zakk Wylde have had long and friendly relationships with the band. What are your thoughts on Charlie and Zakk being part of this reunion tour? Additionally, what are your thoughts on this tour even taking place? If you look across the internet, there are a variety of reactions regarding the upcoming Pantera 2023 shows. Even Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows has an opinion about it!

Earlier this year, the band celebrated the 30th anniversary of their sixth studio album, Vulgar Display of Power. To celebrate this landmark achievement of heavy metal, we conducted a series of interviews with none other than Pantera singer Phil Anselmo. Accompanying each of these interviews were special HD remastered music videos; said HD music videos are that of “This Love,” “Mouth For War,” and “Walk.”

Pantera formed in 1981, and while Terry Glaze would be the band’s first vocalist, the line-up that the band would be best known for consists of: Phil Anselmo (vocals), Dimebag Darrell (guitar), Rex Brown (bass), and Vinnie Paul (drums). Dimebag Darrell died on December 8th, 2004, and his brother Vinnie Paul passed away on June 22nd, 2018. At the time of this writing, the band have released nine studio albums; the following are the albums the band has released:

Metal Magic (1983), Projects in the Jungle (1984), I Am the Night (1985), Power Metal (1988), Cowboys from Hell (1990), Vulgar Display of Power (1992), Far Beyond Driven (1994), The Great Southern Trendkill (1996) and Reinventing the Steel (2000).

Pantera is considered by many one of the greatest metal bands to ever be.
