During a recent appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Steve-O spoke about why Bam Margera was not in the latest Jackass movie. Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson is a podcast from the famous boxer and features him chatting with a variety of different guests.

At one point during Tyson and Steve-O’s conversation, the topic regarding why Bam was not part of Jackass Forever comes up. As you may have seen in the news lately, Margera recently completed one year of rehab; Margera has been vocal about how committed he is to following through on his plan to recovery, even going as far as to deny pain meds regarding a recent skateboarding accident.

In talking about Bam Margera not appearing in Jackass Forever, Steve-O shares with Mike Tyson how it was very much a matter of Margera needing to address his health. He talks about how some folks associated with Jackass made Bam take drug tests, and also shared that Bam’s contract required him to be sober for the movie.

He continues, adding how the team loves him and wants the best for him; he also adds that it was the same group of people who organized an intervention for himself (which, per Steve-O, saved his life). Steve-O goes on to say, “These people, they fuckin’ put their foot down; they said, ‘What’s happening has to fuckin’ stop, and we’re gonna do what we can to make it stop.'”

Steve-O goes on to talk about Bam’s interventions, being locked up in rehabs, and his difficulties staying sober. You can find a video involving this conversation below.

In other news pertaining to Bam Margera, there was a bit of a scare regarding the Jackass star having gone missing (thankfully he is fine though). When it comes to the rest of the Jackass crew, they released a new flick onto Netflix back in May. You can find links for both these stories below.
