In a new interview with Consequence, Beavis and Butt-Head creator Mike Judge said that the titular duo will react to YouTube and TikTok videos in their new movie.
Earlier this month, a trailer was released for the new Beavis and Butt-Head movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. Per the description associated with that trailer:
“In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-head are sentenced to Space Camp by a ‘creative’ judge in 1998, leading to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones, and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: They don’t score.”
In a recent interview with Consequence, Mike Judge shared some fun details regarding the duo’s upcoming film. A specific point he talked about is that, much like how the two characters comment on music videos, they will be commenting on YouTube and TikTok videos in this movie.
Per Mike Judge:
“That just sort of came up [regarding Beavis and Butt-Head reacting to YouTube and TikTok videos]. Like, there’s just so much to watch. We were limited to [music videos] on MTV, but the world is cluttered with so much video now.”
“Now, whatever the demographic that was watching music videos [in the ’90s] is probably watching this kind of TikTok stuff. And we all watch YouTube.”
What are your thoughts on Beavis and Butt-Head reacting to YouTube and TikTok videos? We are very much fans of how the boys would poke fun at music videos in the past. There are two particular instances that we find real funny, one involving Metallica, and another involving Korn.
