Back in March, we reported that the Twisted Metal TV show will be making its way onto the streaming service Peacock. While actor Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Mirror, Avengers: Endgame) is set to be the protagonist of the show, we have learned that another actor has been confirmed to voice the video game franchise’s most iconic character.
In case you do not know, Twisted Metal is a video game franchise that made its debut in the ’90s. The game is an off-the-wall vehicle-based combat title; players can pick from a variety of maniacal drivers, each who has their own special vehicle. Players then drive through a plethora of courses, blowing up and causing mayhem as they burn rubber.
Regarding this latest news about the show, we have learned that none other than Actor Will Arnett (BoJack Horseman, Arrested Development) will be voicing the game’s most prominent character – Sweet Tooth.
Many fans of the Twisted Metal games would more than likely consider Sweet Tooth to be the most well-known character throughout the franchise (given that the guy is all over the marketing for each game). We mean, how can you not be stunned by a menacingly buff killer clown whose head happens to be lit on fire?
Other actors who will be part of the Twisted Metal show include: Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, and Neve Campbell.
Per the show’s IMDb page, Twisted Metal “Follows a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
At the time of this writing we do not have a release date or trailer for the show; but you can totally bet that as soon as such information becomes available, we will let you know.
What do you think of Will Arnett voicing that of the terrifying Sweet Tooth? Do you think he is a good choice for the role?
