9-year-old Maya Neelakantan has a YouTube channel where she performs different guitar covers, and her latest video involves her covering Tool.

Uploaded recently, Maya performed a guitar cover of the Tool song “7empest,” which is a song off of the band’s latest studio album Fear Inoculum.

In the description associated with Maya’s cover of “7empest,” she writes:

“Hi Everyone! I am sorry I haven’t been doing guitar covers for awhile because I have been trying to perfect this song and get this song to the absolute best so I can play it fluently. This is a really long and hard song and its my favourite of all Tool songs. It was an incredible journey for me when learning the entire 16 minutes of mind blowing melodies and solos! I feel Adam Jones, my favourite guitarist, really shines throughout the song. I hope you all enjoy it!”

Maya’s performance of the Tool track is absolutely incredible. You can check out her performance below:

Absolutely awesome work Maya! What an incredibly talented kid!

At the time of this writing, Maya has uploaded a total of five videos onto her YouTube channel and has around 90 subscribers. You can check out her other videos via her channel.

Another video of hers that caught our attention is her cover of the Lamb Of God song “Laid to Rest.” At the time she covered that track, Maya was 8-years-old.

In some other Tool related news, band frontman Maynard James Keenan recently spoke to a problem that he has with social media. In recent Lamb Of God news, the band just recently announced a new album titled Omens, as well as a new tour! Funny enough, as of today, the band just released the first single off of Omens titled “Nevermore.”
