Actor Christian Bale has jumped from DC Comics to Marvel, for he is the big bad in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.
Thor: Love and Thunder picks up sometime after the events of Avengers: Endgame, with the titular Thor hanging alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the first trailer that was released sometime ago (which also included an iconic Guns N’ Roses song), we saw Thor come face to face with that of his past girlfriend Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman); and in a very awesome twist, Foster has become the God of Thunder!
How is this possible? Well, it’s possible that writer and director Taika Waititi pulled some inspiration from the original comic book story that explores Foster becoming the God of Thunder.
In the new trailer that just came out recently for Thor: Love and Thunder, we get to see a little bit more of Foster and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, some other comedic moments, and a first look at Christian Bale’s big bad Gorr the God Butcher.
First off – holy shit, what a metal as hell name. We won’t spoil anything in case you haven’t read the comics, but Gorr is one hell of a brutal adversary. Bale has proven himself time and time again to be a remarkable actor, and from the little we have seen in this new trailer, it looks like he will deliver on Gorr’s unnerving and menacing presentation.
