For you metalheads who happen to be horror fans, we got some cool news to share about the new Evil Dead movie.
Coming out later this year, a brand Evil Dead movie will be arriving on HBO Max. The film is called Evil Dead Rise.
The premise is as follows (per the film’s Wikipedia):
“In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A. apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.
The original Evil Dead was released in 1981, written and directed by horror icon Sam Rami. In a conversation with Slash Film, Rami said he had the chance to see a rough cut of Evil Dead Rise – and he has some real promising things to say about the new movie.
Sam Rami talking about new Evil Dead movie
“I’ve seen a rough cut [of ‘Evil Dead Rise’], a medium fine cut, and a fine cut. There’s probably a few changes that Lee Cronin is making that I haven’t seen, but it’s great. It’s terrifying and it’s going to knock people’s socks off.”
The last entry in the film’s franchise was that of the 2013 movie. Are you excited for this new film?
Besides being based off his work, the new film does not include Rami on a creative level. The latest film to come from Sam Rami is actually that of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (which will be in theatres this Friday). We recently shared a new clip from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which you can check out by clicking the link below.
