Who would have thought that a Pantera song in the new Sonic movie would fit so well? Then again, we are talking Pantera here.

A YouTube user has uploaded a clip from the new Sonic movie, Sonic 2, that features the classic Pantera song “Walk.” You can check out that clip below, but of course, be aware of spoilers.

The clip shows Dr. Robotnik (played by actor Jim Carrey) inside a giant robot that appears in his likeness. At one point, Robotnik is swinging his arms to the tune of Pantera’s “Walk,” the robot mimicking his movements. “Walk” always brings such an incredible air of aggression, and it delivers in this Sonic movie to create a bad ass (if not slightly comical) moment. If you want to try and minimize spoilers, the song actually kicks in around the 1:20 timestamp.

Are you going to see (or have you seen) the new Sonic movie? It is currently in theatres.

During a recent interview with Jim Carrey, the actor not only spoke to enjoying Machine Head and Deep Purple, but also when he first discovered Pantera’s music. He also spoke about meeting Dimebag Darrell and the band for the first time (which is quite the surreal story). To hear the story from Carrey yourself, you can click on the link below.

This also isn’t the first time that Pantera music has made its way into children’s media. If you grew up watching SpongeBob SquarePants, you might be familiar with one of the earlier episodes that featured Pantera music. You can find a clip of Pantera music appearing in SpongeBob SquarePants below.

It’s always neat to hear an iconic metal song in a movie or TV show when you weren’t expecting it. What are some other instances of a Pantera song appearing in a movie and/or TV show that you really enjoyed?
