Via an interview she did with the UK Sunday Times, while discussing how cancel culture has impacted her life, Sharon Osbourne made the claim that, “If Hitler were alive today, they would give him a TV show.”
Nearly a year after having been suspended from the US TV talk show The Talk, Sharon Osbourne, wife of Ozzy Osbourne, will be returning to television in the form of a UK show called The Talk. The UK version of The Talk sees Sharon Osbourne teaming up with that of UK broadcaster and TV personality Piers Morgan.
Osbourne found herself suspended from the US version of The Talk after getting into an intense discussion about race with fellow co-star Sherly Underwood, where Osbourne ended up defending Morgan. The conversation between the two co-stars involved them talking about some past comments that Morgan had made about ex-actress Meghan Markle that were deemed to have racial undertones. The debate between Osbourne and Underwood began to get heated as the former asked Underwood to explain Morgan’s comments.
After this debate took place, the US version of The Talk went on hiatus, and previous The Talk hosts and staffers accused Osbourne of making racial comments. Since being suspended from the show, Osbourne claims that she has received death threats over her defending Morgan.
In a new interview speaking to cancel culture, Osbourne brought up the recent incident between actor Will Smith and that of comedian Chris Rock. Per Osbourne, she shared the following regarding cancel culture and the hypocrisy of cancel culture:
“When [Smith] wins [the Best Actor award], everybody stands up,” she said. “It’s, like, you’re such hypocrites. You’re going to go home and say how disgraceful his behavior was, but you stand up and give him a standing ovation. You know, it’s like I’ve always said, in this industry, if people could make a buck off you… If Hitler were alive today, they would give him a TV show.”
That is one hell of a claim Sharon. What are your thoughts on what Sharon Osbourne has to say about cancel culture?
