Yesterday, we shared an interview between Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 and that of radio personality Eddie Trunk where the former spoke about an onstage incident between him and Marilyn Manson back in 2003. In a video associated with that incident, you can see Marilyn Manson bumping into John 5, the latter going off to the point of dropping his guitar and getting in Manson’s face.

While this interaction between Marilyn Manson and John 5 looks to have been a one time spat, there are other artists who have had bigger problems with that of the shock rocker. Throughout Manson’s career, there have been several artists who have had it out with him or announced they are severing ties with him.

Fred Durst And Wes Borland Of Limp Bizkit

Back in 1999, Marilyn Manson and that of Limp Bizkit vocalist Fred Durst had it out over internet comments. At one point, Manson had written and shared a statement that said Limp Bizkit and their fans were “illiterate apes that beat your ass in high school for being a ‘fag’ now sell you tuneless testosterone anthems of misogyny and pretend to be outsiders…”

In an interview with NME, Durst responded to this statement, saying, “I understand that Marilyn Manson is very unhappy that his career has gone in a shambles and he’s alienated his fans, so if he has to say things like that because he’s very mad at himself, I would forgive him.”

NME goes on to ask Durst: “What about Manson‘s suggestion that you are a bully posing as a victim?”

Fred Dusrst replied with, “That’s how stupid he must be if he thinks that. But hey, I definitely wasn’t one of the bullies at school. I was a victim. And I’m not a bully at all right now, what can I say? I’m friends with the people in his band so I don’t know why he’s talking shit.”

Durst isn’t the only Limp Bizkit star to have issues with Manson though. As news began to spread regarding the abuse allegations made against Marilyn Manson back in 2021, that of Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland chimed in with comments regarding Manson’s character.

During his appearance on the Twitch channel Space Zebra, Borland said the following about Manson:

“He’s not a great guy and every single thing that people have said about him is fucking true… They are speaking the truth.”

While Borland said that Manson was “amazingly talented,” he did stress that Manson was “fucked up and he needs to be put in check and he needs to get sober and he needs to come to terms with his demons. He is a bad fucking guy.”

Rob Zombie

When it comes to other beefs Marilyn Manson has had with other metal artists – the shock rocker allegedly threatened to throw down with that of horror rocker Rob Zombie back in 2012.

Around that time, the two artists were on tour for the Twins of Evil Tour. Apparently, within a few runs of that tour, the artists got into a heated argument; per some sources, it is said Manson was upset that his onstage time was interrupted by Zombie. It is during this supposed verbal altercation that Manson allegedly claimed to “kick Rob Zombie’s ass.”

This beef between the two metalheads did not last long though, for they have both made up.

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails

However, one friendship that appears to be over is that between Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Rezonr. Much like when Wes Borland spoke out, Reznor also chimed in around the time of Manson’s abuse allegations becoming more public. Reznor’s statement pertained to his “dislike” of Manson, as well as speaking to a passage Manson had written in his memoir that the Nine Inch Nails singer calls “a complete fabrication.”

The passage in question is one from Manson’s book The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, in which the singer alleged that he and Reznor abused an intoxicated woman together. Back in 2021, Trent Reznor released this statement, via Pitchfork, regarding Manson:

“I have been vocal over the years about my dislike of Manson as a person and cut ties with him nearly 25 years ago. As I said at the time, the passage from Manson’s memoir is a complete fabrication. I was infuriated and offended back when it came out and remain so today.”

As you can see, there have been quite a few rockers and metalheads who have had it out with Marilyn Manson. What are your thoughts on these confrontations and beefs? You can also find that video of the 2003 onstage conflict between Manson and John 5 by clicking the link below.
