You may have recently seen the seven-year-old drummer who was on the Ellen DeGeneres show and had his Slipknot cover featured – well you’ll be happy to know that Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg gave the little dude an awesome shout out!

Yesterday, seven-year-old UK drummer Caleb Hayes was featured on Ellen’s show to talk about his drumming skills. A clip was featured of him performing a drum cover of Slipknot’s “Sulfur” (which is from the band’s 2008 album All Hope Is Gone). Caleb shared that Slipknot is his favorite band; he also shared that he has been saving up for a Jay Weinberg signature snare drum, and let’s just say Ellen had a great surprise for the little drummer.

Caleb will also be happy to know that Jay caught wind of the his interview with Ellen and had some really cool words to share. Per Weinberg’s Instagram account, the drummer wrote:

“Caleb!! Once again, you’ve made all your big brothers in @slipknot proud!🤘🏻❤️🤘🏻 What a way to own the moment, and deliver a fantastic performance. So stoked to see you rip it up on @TheEllenShow, and that you’re heading home with a new snare 🔥🥁🔥 Play it hard and often, my friend — I know you will!”
