Rob Zombie’s wife tends to find her way into every one of his movies, and when it comes to Zombie’s Munsters movie, the Elvira actress is standing up for Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the Elvira: Mistress of the Dark star, Cassandra Peterson, would be part of the Rob Zombie Munsters movie. Like Peterson, audiences will find some faces among the Munsters cast who have not been part of a Rob Zombie movie before; they’ll also find a couple familiar faces, like that of actress Sheri Moon Zombie.
In the Rob Zombie Munsters movie, Sheri Moon Zombie plays Lily Munster (the wife of Herman Munster, played by Jeff Daniels). Many have criticized Zombie in the past for putting his wife in his films, but there have also been many folks who defend his decision to include Sheri. One of the latter happens to be Elvira star Cassandra Peterson.
In a new interview with Variety, where she talked about the Rob Zombie Munsters movie, the Elvira star spoke to how much she enjoyed working on the film. She says, “I had the best time with all of the actors that I was working with, and we had so much fun. The people there, the set, they built the house — oh my god, it was just all magical. It was like ‘The Munsters’ came alive. It was insane.”
At one point, she brings up Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, teasing that audiences are going to love her character.
“Sheri is freaking adorable as Lily Munster. I see on social media people asking, ‘Why is Rob always casting her?’ Because she’s freaking good. I think she killed it and people will be really surprised and really like her character.”
