It looks like nu metal‘s System Of A Down have themselves a very prominent fan – one who happens to be a Prime Minister. As reported by Blabbermouth, on the national radio station Bandit Rock, Sweden’s Prime Minister, Magdalena Andersson, shared that the band are “really awesome.”

Andersson is the leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party and became the country’s first female Prime Minister on November 30th last year. During her interview with the station, which took place today (February 15th), Andersson was asked about her listening taste, to which she said, “When it comes to rock, it’s System of A Down.”

She was then asked if she listens to the band at home, to which she replied, “Yes, absolutely, and when it’s [a] party! No matter what kind of party, my husband takes over.”

Andersson is one of the several politicians that have come forth and openly shared their love for heavy music. Along with the likes of Virginia State Delegate Danica Roem shouting out Municipal Waste, Chile’s President loves Deftones, Korn, Nine Inch Nails, and more. Wonder if our President has any interest in heavy music – imagine hearing one day Biden being like, “I’d really love to see a new record from Job For A Cowboy sometime soon.”

Speaking of System Of A Down, did you catch the cool cover Anthrax‘s Scott Ian and his 10-year-old son did of the band’s song “Bounce“? It’s pretty sick.

System Of A Down formed in 1994, and while they became a huge name in nu metal, the band have always incorporated elements of alternative and progressive metal into their material. At the time of this writing, though the band have written and shared new music, there have only been rumors of an upcoming new album. Here’s hoping that could change in 2022!
