Shadow of Intent are one of the biggest bands in heavy music right now. The deathcore act formed in 2013 and originally started out as a Halo-themed project; that’s Halo as in the super popular Xbox video game franchise (the band’s name is a reference to a ship in the Halo games). That said, Shadow of Intent have expanded beyond the plane of Halo-references and have become juggernauts of deathcore brutality.

While their performances include a great deal of deathcore technicality, the band also have a tremendous symphonic presence to their material. Their latest release, 2022’s Elegy, is a testament to their remarkable songwriting talents. One of the songs off that record, “Blood in the Sands of Time,” has just received the music video treatment as of today! While the song is a ferocious cut of crushing instrumentation, the music video has an added treat to it, being that it is all done in Claymation.

Perhaps for you metalheads who are a little older, you may remember shows like Gumby, or movies like Wallace and Gromit, where all the characters are created using clay. “Blood in the Sands of Time” features such an animation style, though, it is a hell of a lot darker and brutal than those other works.

You can catch the Claymation music video for “Blood in the Sands of Time” below. Elegy is currently available to purchase now on a variety of platforms.
