It’s Friday, which means two things: giving the week the finger and new music! Tune in every Friday for The Pit’s round-up of new metal releases, from singalong hard rock to pus-drenched underground death metal. Keep those ears bleeding!

New metal releases

Blood Incantation, Timewave Zero, (Century Media)

For fans of: Bell Witch, Mizmor, Sun O)))

Standout track: “Ea: First Movement”

Timewave Zero is real interesting shift in gears for Blood Incantation; if you’re already a fan of this band, you may be wondering why we’d mention doom/drone acts for the “fans of” section (given that Blood Incantation is a technical death metal band). That’s because Timewave Zero is actually an ambient record. Weaving together strings and electronic elements, the record makes for a remarkable extension of the band’s heavy psychedelic music.

New metal releases

George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, Corpsegrinder, (Perseverance Music Group)

For fans of: Cannibal Corpse, Serpentine Domain, Aeon

Standout track: “Bottom Dweller”

The Cannibal Corpse vocalist has finally released his solo record and it is a banger! Brining together elements of death metal, thrash, and hardcore, Corpsegrinder is an unrelenting force of brutal instrumentation and guttural vocals. Corpsegrinder is for those looking to kickstart their weekend with sonic adrenaline.

New metal releases

Hammerfall, Hammer of Dawn, (Napalm Records)

For fans of: Smoulder, Sabaton, Eternal Champion

Standout track: “State of the W.I.L.D.”

In need of some heavy metal with more of a fantasy edge to it? Hammerfall have you covered. Hammer of Dawn proves to be a riveting experience throughout, providing a plethora of vibrant melodies and epic sounding compositions.

New metal releases

Scorpions, Rock Believer, (Vertigo Berlin)

For fans of: Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister

Standout track: “Gas In The Tank”

With their 19th studio album, Scorpions show no signs of slowing down. These rockers are here to have a good time and Rock Believer is a testament to all their incredible work throughout the years. If you’re looking for more of a classic rock ‘n’ roll vibe this weekend, Scorpions’ Rock Believer is perfect for such a mood.

Other Crushers:

  • Corey Taylor, CMFB…Sides, Roadrunner Records
  • Diablo, When All the Rivers Are Silent, Sakara Records
  • Deathbell, A Nocturnal Crossing, Svart Records
