Before the Fame: Watch the First Shows of Metal’s Biggest Names (Korn, Mastodon, Tool & More)

Every band has their own humble beginnings. Typically, it takes years toiling away playing in front of 7 people to refine your sound and your stage presence.

And while we’re in no way suggesting that any of the bands in the list below didn’t pay their dues or put in the sweat equity, what we are bringing to your attention is that they are all complete freaks of nature for sounding so good so early on in their careers.

Some of these are their very first shows, others are some of their earliest- but they all have one important thing in common:

Each band clearly had that special “IT factor”… that special something from the jump off. And, looking back now, it’s so easy to see that they were destined for greatness from the very start.

So, crack open a cold one, lean on back and bask in the glory (in no particular order) of some of heavy music’s biggest names kicking ass live when they were just itty bitty little babies:
