Do you ever lay wide awake at night thinking about the universe’s major “what if’s”? Like, what if Schwarzenegger had signed on for Predator 2? Or, what sub-genre would American metal have ripped off in the 2000’s if Slaughter of the Soul was never made? And, the one that truly has us up sweating most nights- what the crap would Metallica sound like if Dave Mustaine was manning the microphone?
Thankfully, a talented Ukranian band by the name of Grandma’s Smuzi took one for the team a little while back and solved this burning question for us.
As you can see below, they put together a pretty spot-on and impressive cover video compilation that blasts threw some Metallica classics sung in – you guessed it – the vocal stylings of one Dave Mustaine:
Honestly? All joking aside, it sounds pretty sick. It’s rare to hear a different cover or interpretation of a Metallica classic that actually rips. We’re not too proud to admit that we first smashed that play button expecting a hearty laugh, only to quickly find ourselves unable to refrain from banging heads. Go give Grandma’s Smuzi a follow on their other accounts.
While pigs will fly before you’ll ever actually see the real version of this, you CAN go see Megadeth play their own songs live as part of the recently announced 2nd leg of ‘The Metal Tour of the Year’ with Lamb of God, Trivium and In Flames in tow. Check out the tour dates below:
