As metalheads, we sometimes feel that we have to jump on love. The basic idea is that given how unacceptable our behavior and culture is to the world at large, if someone falls in love with us, we better lock that shit down, because who else could possibly love us? But that true love, where someone adores you for everything you are including your Malignancy hoodie, is out there. Case in point, a video has surfaced of a metal guitarist playing his bride a song he wrote for her at their wedding — and bringing his lady love to tears with it.
As reported by Loudwire, John Morrell is known on Soundcloud as SadSatan, under which moniker he performs experimental and industrial music, not to mention instrumental guitar pieces like the one you’ll see here. And at his wedding, rather than write here a long, flowery speech, Jon decided to tell his new wife Francesca that he loved her the only way he really knew how: BY AXE.
“Frankie, I love you more than anything on this planet,” says Morrell in a video of his performance, seen below via Facebook. “I was trying to figure out what I was going to say tonight to properly explain how much you mean to me and how much I love you. And I know that you know better than anybody that I’m much better at explaining how I feel with my music. And since I proposed to you last year, I’ve been writing a song for you, and I think that this would be the best time to play it for you.”
Francesca is then led out to a throne on the dance floor, where Morrell serenades her with his guitar. There’s fake smoke, and sparklers, and oh holy Jesus it’s the sweetest thing we’ve ever seen.
Watch the video below and wonder what the fuck you were doing at your wedding:
