Here’s Your First Look at Beavis and Butt-Head In Paramount+’s New Movie

Published on:

Last February, the world rejoiced (-ish) to learn that metalhead cartoon heroes Beavis and Butt-Head would be returning in a brand new movie. Now, our first look at the duo has been revealed, and, well, they haven’t aged well.

The new Beavis and Butt-Head movie will be released via Paramount+, Paramount’s new streaming service that apparently wants to get in on that Disney+ and Peacock money. That Beavis and Butt-Head would be a part of the service was already hinted in the commercials aired during last year’s Super Bowl Sunday, when the duo appeared in ads for Paramount+ alongside Patrick Stewart, Samara from The Ring, and one of the puppets from Crank Yankers.

Show creator Mike Judge tweeted the following concept art, with the caption, “Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning this year with a brand new movie and more on Paramount+. No exact date yet, but soon. They need some time to get back in shape.”

Oh Jesus — middle-aged Beavis and Butt-Head? Somehow, we’d hoped that the headbanging duo had remained eternally young, like Bart Simpson, but it appears time makes fools of us all. Once can only hope they’ve at least made lives for themselves, and aren’t doing some bullshit job like, I don’t know, running a metal website or whatever.

The new Beavis and Butt-Head movie joins a pretty busy viewing schedule for homebound metalheads this year. Between this, the upcoming live-action Twisted Metal series, Tim Burton’s new coming-of-age show about teenage Wednesday Addams, the new Metalocalypse movie in the works, and of course Rob Zombie’s reboot of The Munsters for Peacock, fans of all things dark, violent, weird, and sleazy will be set to, well, basically live like Beavis and Butthead into 2022. Guess we’ll see sunlight sometime later in the decade.
