Cannibal Corpse Frontman Corpsegrinder Unleashes New Solo Track “On Wings of Carnage”

Published on:

Back in November, we were delighted to report that George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, frontman of death metal legends Cannibal Corpse, was releasing a solo album, simply called Corpsegrinder, which will be co-produced by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta,  Now, Corpsegrinder has unleashed a new solo track, and damn if it ain’t a sonic steamroller.

While it’d be understandable that some fans would assume that Corpsegrinder will just sound like Cannibal Corpse Jr., “On Wings of Carnage,” the solo effort’s new single, proves that there’s a little more going on than that. The track is just too steady, too bull-headed and straightforward in its brutality, to have been a Cannibal song. Instead, this feels like a death metal song you could hear on rock radio, a catchy, brooding track that showcases Fisher’s vocals with a background of grinding breakdown. You can really hear the Jasta in this one, too, which might help George break through to new fans.
