Your average TV viewer knows Glenn Howerton as Dennis Reynolds, the questionably-psychotic yuppie member of the Gang on FX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Others might know him as Jack Griffin from NBC’s A.P. Bio, or for his brief-yet-memorable appearances in both of the Crank movies starring Jason Statham. But those who dig a little deeper will find that Howerton isn’t just the inventor of the D.E.N.N.I.S. System — he’s also down with some alternative metal.

Back in 2017, a fan on Twitter asked Howerton if he was a fan of any hard rock and metal. In response, the actor name-dropped French experimental groove metallers Gojira and funk-metal legends Faith No More as bands he’s down with.

“Gojira is amazing,” tweeted Howerton. “Faith No More was the first band to make me appreciate how fun metal can be.”

From all of us at The Pit, we salute you, Glenn. It’s good to know that some huge, chunky riffs went into crafting the malnourished, murder-implying golden god we all love drinking along with.

Meanwhile, Glenn will be able to catch Gojira on their 2022 tour with Deftones at one of the following dates. And to read more about Gojira and other metal mayhem, make sure to subscribe to our weekly newsletter.
