Back in September, New Jersey deathcore reinvigorators Fit For An Autopsy announced their new album Oh What The Future Holds for a January 20221 release. Now, the band have dropped a new single from the record, which you can hear below.
What’s immediately noticeable on the new track, titled “In Shadows,” is that it takes a broader approach to the band’s sound. There aren’t as many accents here, and the drops and breakdowns don’t feel the same sort of need to swing for the jaw as much as they often do on the band’s previous efforts. Instead, one gets the feeling that the Fit For An Autopsy dudes were looking to create something emotionally powerful (albeit incredibly aggressive), hitting the listener with a wall of sound rather than a series of resounding blows about the face and neck.
Oh What The Future Holds comes out January 14th via Nuclear Blast, and is available for preorder.
