Lately, a lot of footage has come out of this year’s Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, from Corey Taylor taking a moment during Slipknot’s set to pay tribute to the Astroworld victims to Brass Against frontwoman Sophai Urista peeing on a willing fan. Now, the numbers are in, and it looks like Welcome to Rockville accomplished something other than giving rock fans a hell of a time — it officially became the biggest rock festival in America with a total of 161,000 attendees passing through its gates.

Apparently, 161,000 people attended Welcome to Rockville this year. But that’s only physically — including at-home viewers, the festival’s livestream also had 1.2 million unique viewers. Of course, it helped that Slipknot had a new single for fans to see live, but hey, the whole thing was a magical weekend, we’re sure.

Not only that, but now Danny Wimmer Presents, the organization behind the fest, has also announced the headliners for 2022’s festival, among them KISS, Korn, Guns N’ Roses, and recent Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductees Foo Fighters. The 2022 festival will go down Thursday, May 19th, through Sunday, May 22nd.

“We knew we had to do something massive to follow the biggest Welcome To Rockville in history so we went out and got rock legends Guns N’ Roses, newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters, (you wanted the best, we got you the best) KISS and DWP’s most requested band, Korn,” says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “We’re looking forward to breaking records at THE WORLD CENTER OF ROCK with you, see you in 2022!”

For the record, if the 2022 line-up already has you, you should buy your tickets now — DWP are currently offering three-day passes, single-day passes, and camping tickets for as low as ten fuckin’ bucks. You can purchase your tickets via the festival’s website.
