Trailer: ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Brings All Your Favorite Villains Back Into Play

Published on:

There’s been a lot of speculation about how much the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, ties together the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Leaked and faked images have suggested that Spider-Mans from throughout the franchise will be returning, and other characters like Netflix’s Daredevil will be making an appearance. Now, the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has dropped, and it shows us that all of the web-slinger’s villains from throughout the franchise are returning once more.

As you’ll see in the trailer below, the basic premise of No Way Home is that after the events of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which his secret identity is revealed to the world by Mysterio, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) enlists Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell which will make the world forget he’s Spider-Man. Of course, in classic fashion, Parker botches it, and instead causes a rift in the multiverse that unleashes Spider-Foes from every reality, including the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) from 2002’s Spider-Man, Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina) from 2004’s Spider-Man 2, the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) from 2007’s Spider-Man 3, the Lizard (Rhys Ifans) from 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, and Electro (Jamie Foxx) from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There’s also shots of Spidey in a black costume, suggesting that the films, and therefor the MCU, might finally incorporate Venom into the mix.
