Video: Slipknot Pay Epic Live Tribute to Joey Jordison and Paul Gray

Published on:

n July, the metal world was heartbroken upon receiving news that Joey Jordison, founding member and former drummer of Slipknot, had died at the age of 46. This, of course, was not Slipknot’s first loss — in 2010, the band’s founding bassist Paul Gray passed away due to a drug overdose. Now, video has emerged of Slipknot’s epic live tribute to both band members on their current Knotfest Roadshow tour.

Check out fan-shot footage of the tribute below:

Warms your cold, dead heart, doesn’t it? We miss you guys.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor was only recently able to open up about Jordison’s passing. In a recent interview, Taylor was asked about Jordison, and finally opened up, saying, “It’s been tough, man. Our first concern was obviously his family, so we reached out immediately to make sure that they were okay, to let them know if they needed anything from us, they could absolutely ask…It’s a damn tragedy. He was way too young and he was way too talented to lose him like this.

“I know a lot of people wonder about the circumstances that led to him not being in the band anymore,” adds Taylor, “and it’s like, we’re not gonna talk about that. Because I’d rather talk about his legacy, which is that he helped create this band that we all have fought to keep out there and keep going.

“Just the fact that he’s not here now, it’s still — I still can’t believe it.”
