Last November, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor revealed that the band were kinda sorta maybe considering putting out a follow-up to 2019’s We Are Not Your Kind in 2021. Then, this may, Corey confirmed the news, saying that the new music that the band were working on was “feeling pretty rad.” Now, Taylor has revealed that Slipknot have new material loaded in the chamber — and that it’s coming sooner than you think!

As reported by Metal Injection, while speaking to Eddie Trunk on the radio show host and veteran metalhead’s podcast, Taylor said of Slipknot’s new album, “Actually, it’s pretty much done. I’d say it’s probably about eighty percent done. We’re finishing up some music, [and] I’ve got a couple more songs to sing. However, I will say this – don’t be surprised if in the next month or so you hear something new.”

Pressed about what the new single would sound like, Taylor described it as “more of a ‘let’s bludgeon everybody and remind them why we’re still Slipknot’ kind of vibe,” and added that it will “remind people why they love Slipknot.”
