Petition Launched to Transfer School Principal Over ‘Satanic’ Iron Maiden Fan Sign

A big part of being a metalhead is idiots thinking you like to kill babies for the Devil. Ever since Black Sabbath uttered the word “Satan” on the title track of their self-titled album, heavy metal has been dogged by Christians who work their asses off to find Beelzebub on every album cover and T-shirt. One band who’ve most idiotically been pulled into the fray are Iron Maiden, whose recitation of the number ‘666’ in one of their songs has labeled them devil-worshippers when most of their music is about classic literature and airship technology. Case in point, a petition has been launched to transfer a school principal over her use of ‘Satanic images’ — when in fact she’s just a big Maiden fan.

As reported by Loudwire, a petition has been started to transfer Sharon Burns, principal of Eden High School in St. Catharines, Ontario, to another school.  According to the petition, “As concerned parents with impressionable children at Eden High School in St. Catharines, Ontario, we are deeply disturbed that the principal assigned to the school blatantly showed Satanic symbols and her allegiance to Satanic practices on her public social media platforms where all the students can see them.

“Our school is based on inclusion, and openly displaying Satanic symbols (on a public social media platform) that directly goes against the principles of the vast majority of families who represent the school, is not inclusive.”

The petition then includes images which prove Burns’ allegiance to Satan…and, well, here it is:

Of course, the petition creators try to dodge their own bullshit reasoning, posting a new header with the hashtag #GetTheWholeStory and writing, “Please Note: This petition is not about Sharon Burns’ love for Iron Maiden. At no point has it ever been. This petition is about a principal of a school openly displaying her own handmade sign with the 666 clearly displayed on it which she knows full well what that Satanic symbol means to the vast majority of families in her school and she put it on a professional, public account on social media, not a private one, which she very easily could have done. If she had not posted a picture of her own handmade 666 sign, this petition would not exist. Nobody cares what band she likes and this is not about her choice in what she listens to. That would be petty and nonsensical.”

Whoever wants to start the ‘Leave Sharon Burns Alone, You Miserable Jackals’ petition, please send it our way. We’ll sign it immediately.
