Last month, shock rocker and horror director Rob Zombie posted his first construction photos from the set of his reboot of The Munsters, which showed the horror-comedy family’s unique house at 1313 Mockingbird Lane slowly coming to life. Soon thereafter, Rob posted pictures that showed that he wasn’t just building the Munsters’ house, but their entire neighborhood. Now, Rob has posted a shot of the completed house — and holy crap, he actually did it!
In a post on his Instagram, Rob wrote, “What a difference 7 days can make! 1313 is looking good! Lots of work left to do, but it is getting there!”

Kudos to Rob for bringing his cinematic dreams to life.
Between this and the other teased bits and pieces from the movie — early set designs, costumes for Herman and Lily Munster, and wig progress for Grandpa Munster — it’s obvious that Zombie’s aware of exactly how anticipated his new project is, and how big a win it’ll be for him if it does well.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer until they get to see Zombie’s new Munsters in action. Due to the number of people asking to see a trailer for the film, Rob’s wife and muse Sheri Moon Zombie, who is believed to play Lily in the film, posted the following update: “Seeing folks ask when a trailer is coming out…The film is in pre-production, currently being location scouted so nothing to show for a while yet.”
Meanwhile, while one chapter of Rob’s epic legacy begins, another one ends. This year saw Rob’s Labor Day box office record for his remake of John Carpenter’s Halloween finally get broken after 14 years. The film originally brought in an unprecedented $30,591,759 domestically when it was released in 2007, and eventually went on to make $58 million domestically and $80 million worldwide. However, this weekend saw Marvel’s new kung-fu action flick Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings bring in $71.4 million domestically upon its debut, with a whopping $83.5 million expected to be counted by the end of the four-day weekend.
