Photos: Rob Zombie Isn’t Just Building The Munsters’ House, He’s Building Their Entire Neighborhood

Last month, shock rocker and horror director Rob Zombie showed off his first construction photos from the set of his reboot of The Munsters. The photos show the horror-comedy family’s unique house at 1313 Mockingbird Lane slowly coming to life. Now, Rob has posted another photo update, and not only is the Munsters’ house coming along, it appears that Rob is building their entire suburban neighborhood as well!

In a post on his Instagram, Zombie wrote, “It’s a beautiful day in Budapest and good old Mockingbird Lane is coming along perfectly. Who wouldn’t want to live here?” He then posted photos of the Munsters’ house slowly coming to life…and then a number of typical suburban houses leading up to it also being built. Yup, Rob’s building the entirety of Mockingbird Lane from the ground up.

Check it out:

Wow! Good to see that Rob’s getting the budget he needs to bring this epic spectacle to life. Between this and the other teased bits and pieces from the movie — early set designscostumes for Herman and Lily Munster, and wig progress for Grandpa Munster — it’s obvious that Zombie’s aware of exactly how anticipated his new project is, and how big a win it’ll be for him if it does well.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer until they get to see Zombie’s new Munsters in action. Due to the number of people asking to see a trailer for the film, Rob’s wife and muse Sheri Moon Zombie, who is believed to play Lily in the film, posted the following update: “Seeing folks ask when a trailer is coming out…The film is in pre-production, currently being location scouted so nothing to show for a while yet.”
