The last new material we got from Swedish goth metallers Ghost was the fan tribute video for their song “Life Eternal.” But now the mitre-clad band are back, officially teasing a new album and tour via one of their classic videos.
As you’ll see in the footage below, frontman Papa Emeritus joins a ‘Doom’ call (like Zoom, but for metal! Get it? GET IT? HAHAHAHAHAHAH) with in-world hardass Sister Imperator to discuss the band’s upcoming activities. In the video, Emeritus instructs Imperator not to call him ‘C’ anymore — a hint at the ‘death’ of previous frontman character Cardinal Copia and the oncoming age of Papa Emeritus IV — and mentions perhaps changing up his look with a wig. Apparently, both Papa and Sister Imperator also got plastic surgery, illustrated by her bandages and his talking about his delicate new nose.
“Aren’t you supposed to be working?” asks Sister Imperator.
“I am!” says Emeritus. “I’m working on me. I’m working on getting everything in order…I’m getting ready for everything coming up.”

More on this story as it unfolds.
Discussing the new album back in October, Forge said, “I have already made a record about God’s wrath and doomsday, even if Prequelle was not about just infection from a medical perspective…But I have a feeling that there will be plenty of doomsday and quarantine-confirming records in the future, and I think I might not participate in it.”
Forge also discussed the possibility of Ghost continuing their live shows, which have become such an important part of their persona and worldwide renown.
“We have played with the idea of perhaps playing in a smaller context if it is an alternative. But my purpose in playing live with Ghost is not to do it at any price, because that’s not what people want to see. People want to see a show, he says. It’s not just that I show up and it’s done, quite the opposite.”
