We don’t know about you, but everyone at The Pit is chomping at the bit for tomorrow, when the greatest month of the year begins and the big 31-day countdown to our high holy day commences. And what better way to ring in the coming of Halloween than with a new track from Swedish horror metallers Ghost?

Ghost have dropped a new song titled “Hunter’s Moon” via a spooky music video. The track comes from the soundtrack of the upcoming new film Halloween Kills, the latest in the recently-rebooted Halloween franchise. Though not directly referencing the Halloween films, the video certainly features a lot of elements that call back to John Carpenter’s classic movie — there’s the blank-faced masked figure, the blowing dried leaves, the ominous ‘shape’ silhouette by backing light, and the fact that at the video’s end, Papa Emeritus looks an awful lot like seasonal slasher Michael Myers.

Interestingly enough, the full moon this October will be a Hunter’s Moon, so make sure to don a mask and blast some Ghost on October 20th!
