With the firing of bassist Dave Ellefson following his online sex scandal, many fans wondered if Megadeth were still planning to embark on their fall tour. But apparently, the trek is still on, as the band have announced who will be playing bass on said tour later this month.

Former Megadeth and Black Label Society bassist James LoMenzo will be replacing Ellefson on tour. LoMenzo played on Megadeth’s 2007 album United Abominations and their 2009 album Endgame.

“I’m happy to announce that former bassist and Megadeth alumni James LoMenzo has graciously stepped in on the Metal Tour of The Year,” says frontman Dave Mustaine. “Tour rehearsals just began, and we cannot wait to start crushing North America.”

“I’m super stoked to be rejoining Megadeth for the upcoming Metal Tour of the Year,” says LoMenzo. “There are no better fans than Megadeth fans, I can’t wait to get out there and shred some Megadeth music with you all.”
