Code Orange Are Recording New Music with Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan

Last year’s Underneath was a huge record for nu-core game-changers Code Orange, in part because it illustrated the band’s willingness to try new things and branch out beyond just throbbing riffs. Now, Code Orange have revealed that they’re working on more new material with a partner some might not have expected: Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.

Code Orange tweeted the following picture of them with Corgan, including a caption that references the Smashing Pumpkins song “Disarm:”

Corgan himself also celebrated the news with an Instagram story saying, “Excited to share I’ve been working with Code Orange on their blistering new songs.”

How Corgan will be involved in Code Orange’s music — whether it’s as a producer, songwriter, or guest star — remains to be seen. All that said, we’re curious as to what the two sonic forces might have in store.
