Mudvayne Are Reuniting for Four Festivals This Summer

Of the many bands who emerged from the nu-metal scene, Mudvayne were always doing something different. The Illinois band may have worn all the outfits and face paint of a Slipknot clone, but their music was consistently more interesting and heavy than that of their peers. Now, it looks like a new generation of fans will get introduced to Mudvayne’s unique brand of sonic madness, as the band have announced that they’re reuniting for four festivals this summer.

Mudvayne, who have inactive since 2010, posted the following message on their Facebook:

“These symptoms suggested that our evolution, I suppose, from the animal kingdom into human kingdom itself was catalyzed or triggered by our encounter with these hallucinogenics, and… Yes, we are an ape with a symbiotic relationship to a mushroom, and that has given us self reflection, language, religion, and all the spectrum of effects that flow from these things And one can only wonder how these hallucinogens might effect our future evolution as well They have brought us to this point and as we make our relationship to them conscious, we may be able to take control of our future evolutionary path

Whether or not Mudvayne’s reunion will continue past these four festival dates remains to be seen, but we can only hope so. That said, this will undoubtedly be a big disappointment to fans of Hellyeah, for whom Mudvayne singer Chad Grey is the frontman.

More as it comes, but for now, welcome back, Mudvayne. We’re excited to brrbrrDENG with you in the near future.
